I am very excited to be applying the theoretical knowledge I acquired over the last four years to an active laboratory environment. On completion of my Diploma, I will be qualified to practice as a medical scientist.

Shauna Maria Walsh
BSc Honours in Agri-Biosciences (CR370)I’m currently a Teagasc PhD Walsh Scholar in Statistical Genetics, researching the genetics of maternal weaning weight of suckler cows. I enjoyed the many aspects offered by Agri-Biosciences, especially the labs, statistical and genetic elements of the course. I’ve loved my time as an undergraduate, it’s been an incredible experience.

Fiona O’Mahony
BSc Honours in Nutritionand Health Science (CR333)
I am currently a Laboratory Analyst at the Malting Company of Ireland, Cork. This role involves carrying out physical and chemical analysis such as moisture, protein and fermentations on both raw materials and finished product. I am really enjoying my time here at MCI and it is a great opportunity to kick start my career in the food industry.

BSc Honours in Herbal ScienceI am currently in the process of setting up a company for a new product for natural skincare. Natural and organic ingredients with sustainable growth and eco-friendly manufacturing and packaging is the vision for the company. Herbal science has proved effective in the processing /chemistry of the product.

I am looking forward to the next chapter where I am currently completing a MSc in Molecular Cell Biology with Bioinnovation in University College Cork.
